At Hencon, we are leading the way in vehicle electrification within the aluminum industry, driven by our unwavering commitment to sustainability and innovation. Electrification is not just about emissions reduction; it is about transforming the operation, making the processes more efficient, and contributing to a greener future. The vision for electrification encompasses sustainable innovation, with the development of electric vehicles like the E-APTV that minimize environmental impact and improve operational efficiency. We utilize cutting-edge technology to optimize energy usage and contribute to reduce the carbon footprint while maintaining operational performance.

Recently, Norsk Hydro had the privilege of hosting a visit from key political figures who share our dedication to greener energy solutions. In the photo, taken on Tuesday at Hydro Sunndal, May 28th, 2024, we see, in front of the new E-APTV by Hencon at the left, Jonas Gahr Støre, the Prime Minister of Norway. In the middle stands Hydro’s new Plant Manager, Wenche Eldegard (previously plant manager at both Høyanger and Årdal), and to the right, Hydro’s new Executive Vice President of Aluminium Metal, Hanne Simensen. This visit underscores the importance of collaboration between industry and government in achieving our shared sustainability goals.

Engaging with key stakeholders, including politicians and industry leaders, is crucial for addressing the power situation and the need for increased green energy. The close ties between Sunndal and the Labour Party, represented by Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, underscore Hydro community’s strong commitment to these goals. Together, we are working towards a more sustainable future for the aluminum industry and beyond.
